On December 23, 2021, at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra (TSSO) under the direction of its Artistic Director Zoi Tsokanou and in collaboration with the Youth Choir of the Holy Church of Kyrillos and Methodios and chorus master Maria Emma Meligopoulou presented masterpieces of Russian music, by composers such as Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Borodin, Rimsky-Korsakov and the Ukrainian Leontovych.
With his striking musicality and musical maturity, German virtuoso cello soloist Maximilian Hornung captivated the audience with Tchaikovsky's 'Variations on a Rococo Theme', and deservedly received a standing ovation for his performance of this highly demanding work.
